This is mainly directed towards students... but feel free anyone...
I showed up at rehersal the other day to find that the tuba player who sits behinf me has a brand new BBb cerveny (this is hs select band) I wasn't jealous cause I have my own miraphone 188 (cc). After rehersal I asked him where he got the horn and of course it was brasswind I asked how much it was and it was $3000 up there I think and I asked how he could have affoarded it because I knew that he didn't have a job... he said his parents bought it for him and that they also got him a f trigger trombone and a few other gizmos.... i was pretty distraught because I (a year later) still owe $3000 plus on my horn and bought a bad tbone for $65 til I can affoard a better one. This Boy is from a pretty rich suburb but his parents made a deal with him that if he made it to HS they'd but him a tuba! well most people at least make it TO HS... not through TO.... so the question is... how many out there have parent bought tubas or who's had similar experiences??
