if i were a partent with the money i am pretty sure i would buy my kid an instrument if i could see he loved it. that's the whole idea of kids loving their parents. my dad was thrilled when i went to college even though it's very common now because he didn't go. maybe this boys parents didn't finish high school but got lucky enough to find a good job and now they are thrilled to see their son not do the same mistakes they did.
