Although there are a billion questions I could ask that pertain to my present dilemma, I will keep it simple. I own a circa 1988 Kalison Daryl Smith 4/4 CC tuba. I have owned it for about three years, and have enjoyed playing it. As I grow musically, I begin to wonder whether it is the type of horn I want to continue to play on. I do not think ill of the horn, but there are some things about it that have made me start thinking of a possible change. I do not want to be hasty, but I would very much like input. I do not wish for people to recommend what they think is the best kind of tuba, but I would very much like to hear comments, complaints, praises, and personal experiences about Kalison horns, especially the first-generation Daryl Smith horns. The purpose of this is to hear the opinion of the masses and see if my own opinions line up or not. Thanks!
