A clean, crisp, consistant low Bb on my Eb Holton. I mean that's not too much to ask of an Eb tuba. I know most of you eefer players can go lower than Bb. Months of struggling to get it. I thought I'd made a breakthrough a couple of weeks back, but it must have been a fluke evening. Sometimes it's there, most times it's just a whisper. No one has tried harder. I play long tones, I do the maggio, I practice and I practice. The C just above is no problem. I don't understand. It's really frustrating. Maybe a different mouthpiece would help. I don't know.
