I find this posting interesting: I have heard about CC cimbassos, but I yet to see just one sample documented. And I find it bit unlikely, that the original Italian cimbassos should have been in CC, as the old Italian tubas, from, what I have heard, should have been in F or BBb.
However, a modern cimbasso in CC would make perfect sense, as it mostly would be played by tubists educated on CC tubas.
