First of all, I don't want this to be a war between men and women and who are better players. I think those are incredibly unprofessional and pointless. BUT, I am curious now because I can't think of a single female tubist in an orchestra. (perhaps I am just not "up to speed" on who's who in the tubist world) In fact, the only professional I can think of is Velvet Brown. I know the tuba is a male dominated instrument, but I KNOW there has to be more professional women out there. Can someone please enlighten me! Enquiring minds want to know...
