So why is it that there aren't that many woman tuba pros? It can't be just because of some "male-dominant-field-thing". Is there a wind/air/depth of sound capacity factor that plays into this?--especially when auditions are done behind a screen.
Perhaps percentage-wise Velvet Brown is representative of the number of women in pro-positions when comparing the total population of male tuba players to total population of female tuba players. Let's face it, there aren't many REAL jobs out there....And there ARE a lot of male tubists that aren't making a professional living playing tuba...
