I've been playing tuba for about a year and a half on and off. Recently I have looked in the mirror after playing and noticed the red ring around my mouth where the mouthpiece was, is this normal? I was playing longtones on the bottom of the staff. I noticed that the ring was slightly off center. It was more towards the right than the left. Is this something that I should worry about or try to fix, where it is now is just where it feels comfortable. I do sometimes have trouble with air escaping out around the mouthpiece, but i don't know if this has anything to do with it.
