I am one of Ted's students graduating in may from OU

This was in my inbox today from Donna Love, an administrative assistant at OU...

This is to apprise you of the situation regarding the tuba studio at the
University of Oklahoma School of Music.

The School is currently engaged in a national search for a tuba teacher, and I
anticipate that we will successfully complete this search within the next six to
eight weeks. Once the search is completed, I will contact you to announce a new
faculty appointment.

I look forward to welcoming you to the many School of Music performance
opportunities within the brass department, as well as with the OU Symphony
Orchestra, the OU Wind Symphony, "The Pride of Oklahoma" Marching Band, and the
Symphony and Concert Bands.

The Tuba-Euphonium Workshop will continue this year, June 22nd – 28th, 2003.

I know the faculty member David is talking about and I'm going to keep my mouth shut since I'm still at OU. I will however say that I really don't think he was listening to an Arnold Jacobs recording. The trumpet studio may know who Jacobs is, but they do not follow his teachings.

Where's the search? My guess is they have a few already selected, perhaps friends or former colleagues of the present brass faculty members.

Wanna know what's amazing? Getting told you're losing your job not by your boss but by one of your students.

Bewildered by it all and glad to be leaving. . .
