Playing a smaller brass mpc does two things. First it focuses your air stream to a smaller, faster column, and secondly, it reduces the size of the apperture (opening of the vibrating surfaces) in your embouchure. Along with allowing an easier high range, these two effects can (more than likely will, if done for long enough) also undermine your flexibility and sound, especially in the low range of both tuba and euph.
