Keep in mind that in my last post I am refering to true doubling (spending say a 50/50 split on the smaller instrument), not using a smaller, high brass mpc as a practice tool. For a practice tool I would personally use and recommend a fluegelhorn or horn mpc as you get all of the focusing benefits with slightly less of the negative resistance. These mouthpieces have a much larger throat, most around a drill size #18 as opposed to a #26 or #27 for the average trumpet mpc.
