I have at last gotten in my Mirafone, which I'm going home to unpack.
My question, however, has to do with the Yamaha Silent Brass for Tuba which I bought.
(A purchase in the interests of domestic tranquility.)
It uses three plastic clamps to hold the large pieces of the mute together. Mine came out of the box with two of them broken right at the point where they'd latch onto the large top section.
These really don't look like they're terribly strong, judging from the one that's still intact.
Has anyone dealt with this type of failure before?
I'm going to take this up the dealer, but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has had this problem. With a design like this, I suspect I'm not the first.
