Böhm & Meinl (previously owned by Walter Nirschl) is now a subsidiary of Wenzel Schreiber (woodwinds). Walter's York type CC can be ordered hand made by himself, but he pointed out in a recent talk, that he can accept only 2 hand made versions per year as an order.
He does not want to jeopardize the quality by an increase of the quantity. The price seems to be about 13k - very reasonable in my opinion. I read many test reports and evaluations about this extraordinary horn, and all were 100% enthusiastic - not the least complaint.
Unfortunately, Walter now has to go "hither and thither" between Geretsried and Markneukirchen very often, so cannot focus just on the B & M section only all the time anymore. However, he is doing a great job - mainly for tuba pros - even respecting custom-made-version wishes.
