To any that may have advice,

After having read the posts regarding the "big jobs" and after having auditioned for several jobs myself I have come to a perverbial fork in the road. I am relatively young (early 20's)and have been playing the tuba for a while now. I have really come to enjoy the music that I am producing and find much joy in it, but I have recently become very frustrated and am now having a hard time believing that I actually can ever win a job. The better I get, the more annoyed I get with my mistakes. I work hard, make priorities, and play the best I can...but I need to know something (actually two things) from those of you who have "made it" in this business. 1. Did you often struggle with this sense of things just not going where they need to be? and 2. How did you get climb the "mountain" of work to get to your goals? ie. when things seemed to pile up how did you deal with the sense of overwhelming hurdles to jump. (please forgive the cheesy language) Any help you can give will be appreciated.
