Is everything ultimately stuffy?

I'm a wanna-be pro, hance my anon status. In the last few weeks I've finally settled into my horns. Both are PT products and have a reputation for being very open horns but it seems that as I have become better I'm experiencing more and more of the 'blow back' affect when I play. In the past the lack of back pressure is what I thought I liked about the response of these horns. Now my horns are responding for me the way 'lesser' horns used to. I've never sounded better and I have nothing to complain about but I'm beginning to wonder if ultimately every horn plays this way once you learn to open up enough. I'm exagerating slightly but it is as if my horns have suddenly taken on the voice of god and the response of a Yamaha or Dillon designed horn. What do the lurking pros think?

thanks,
anon

p.s. Yes, I know that I should be playing by sound not feel(if I didn't I wouldn't have gotten this far) but I think this is an interesting question.
