Anon, The B+S line of instruments, if they are anything, I feel are the most consistent in terms of playing characteristics on the market today. They do not change as the player progresses, in fact no horn does.But a change in mouthpieces as we grow in ability might help bridge a person to the instrument more efficiently.ie. vibration to air column.
