I've decided to play again after a 30 year hiatus since graduating high school. (!!!!). I used to play the school's tuba, and never knew much about the instrument. Now, I've got decisions to make on renting (probably) or buying (not likely right now) a tuba. From what I recall, I played a 3 valve silver tuba. It was big. That's all I remember. Now I need to decide on size, valves, brand, metal, key...arghh!
Can I get the top ten tips from the tuba experts (you) on renting a tuba and getting back on board? Ultimately, if things progress, I will buy one.
I will be playing with local town bands....pretty light duty stuff.
