I own a Willson 3050 CC and on the 4th valve slide in particular there are three points in which you can move the slide for tuning. My question is...Is the pitch altered in a different percentage if it is closer to the inception of the vibration. For example, If the main tuning slide is on the lead pipe of a horn, and that said slide is moved a half inch outward, and the pitch was flattened by 10 cents. Would a tuning slide placed closer to the bell, and also moved a half inch outward, effect the pitch by 10 cents? Hopefully I haven't confused people too much by the question. Any insight would be nice.
