Hi,
there are 2 tuba players at my school including myslef and we're playing a song that was written just for us and there is a really nice baseline that is rather low and then we have to hold a pedal G for something like 8 measures at FFF and we tried stagger breathing it but our director got upset because it didn't tell us to so we have to 'last' that long. Now we're both good players and in the local honors bands etc so we have some idea as to what is going on, but if we can't stagger breathe nor last 8 measures that low do we have to breathe or descretely or are there someother tricks that we aren't aware of?? there aren't really any other instuments playing at the same time so we can't use them to hide us a little.
