I don't know any of your personal positiions of employment, but the private teachers that I know are predominantly college professors. Their vehicles of choice include (but are not limited to): Lexus, BMW, and the Toyota 4-Runner. Also, they have enough money to buy 3 or 4 + horns despite the current prices. I know everyone that teaches privately isn't a college professor, but most of them are, and they sure as heck seem to be paid quite substantially without having to be so money-hungry towards aspiring students. This of course doesn't include those people like retired pro's or the guy that used to be the local high school band director who also plays the tuba. Although generally they don't charge much anyway. If they did, though, then they would have an excuse.
