To let you know where I'm coming from, I enjoy listening to: Beetoven, Brams, Dvorak, and Wagner. It is my opinion that Von Karajan, Abbado and Ozawa have the better interpretations of the works of these composers. As I am a tuba player I enjoy listening to the brass music composed by these men, these conductors know how to let the brass play when need be.
On the other hand if I were, say a Mozart, Strauss or a fan of (atonal garbage) London, Dallas, Cinicinati or even Jacksonville would suffice.
If Brams 1 does not make your hands shake just listening then you must be a violinist!
Slave Marche, Die Meistersinger, Egmont!
PS. I feel the need to mention John Williams' Olympic Fanfare and many others.
DOWN WITH TONE POEMS!!!!
