I prefer Vienna to Berlin in almost every case. The BSO does not record often my favorite music, so I don't listen to them much. Chicago under Abbado is my least favorite of my many renderings of Pictures at an Exhibition (if I'm remembering my library correctly--it's been a long time since I listend to it). So, my favorite list would not coincide with yours.
My favorite orchestra is the one that is playing my favorite music like they love it. That means I gravitate to British orchestras. The lack of excessive sentimentality is a bonus in my view.
An orchestra the produces music you like doesn't necessarily treat people fairly to do it.
