There was a finals round A in which nine people participated and a finals round B in which the last three participated. Finals A was all low tuba stuff and screened. Finals B was open and involved part of the Vaughan Williams with an accompanist and orchestra stuff with the section and Seiji. When it came to the end of finals B, the committee announced that no one will be selected since they were anticipating the audition of someone else who has already been playing with the orchestra. Who this person is, I'm not even going to guess. This may (or may not!) be resolved in the next three weeks at which point audition commentary may or may not be made available to all those who auditioned. Seems as though everyone got royally screwed this time, though I could think of much stronger language to use.
