As I have been watching my two year old Besson 765 euphonium disintegrate, I have been wondering about the quality of construction of different brands of new low brass instruments. I am an amateur (but always improving) player and I would like to purchase a horn that (with regular maintenance and periodic overhauls) will last a lifetime. I am interested in all honest opinions (positive, negative or neutral) about the quality of construction of Willson, Yamaha, Miraphone and other brands of euphoniums (other than Besson). At this point, I am not worried about the quality of the sound that can be produced with these instruments. I will have to determine that on my own.
