Here's what I've just been told by the L'Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia regarding their tuba audition:
Applicants must "Be Spanish, citizen of one of the European Community countries or citizen of a country that, according to the present Community Regulations in force in
Spain, it is applicable the free circulation of workers within the terms
specified in the Community Regulation. Likewise, it is also allowed to take
part in these auditions to foreigners living in Spain in accordance with
the legal Regulations in force."
Hmmmm.....not really an open market then! Reason cited: the OSG is a publicly funded institution. So much for learning Spanish.....
