I am a regular member of the current Artie Shaw Orchestra, (Artie is still alive and well but he hasn't played for 50 years), and we still play his version of it from the late 30's or early 40's (I don't know the year he did it). I've also played an even earlier arrangement from 1929 I think, in another band. To say that Harvey Phillips "made it famous" isn't exactly accurate.
