I use a one-of-a-kind Doug Elliot mouthpiece with a hand-shaped rim. I can't live without it. On my way to a gig I always carry it in my pocket, wrapped in a handkerchief. My band has a gig in Florida next month, and we will be flying there from Hartford on Delta. My question is this: with the new security precautions, will I be prevented from carrying the mouthpiece with me? I hate to check it with luggage or with the tuba because luggage gets lost. Have any of you carried a mouthpiece with you recently on a domestic flight?
