B&S/Sonora Tubas

Can anyone confirm if B&S (or VMI) made the Sonora brand BBb 4v rotary horns in the early 70's?
I bought one 18 months ago and I have not been able to identify the original manufacturer. I check around on the archives and eventually crossed checked the VMI site. I found that VMI currently offers the B&S 3103 which looks very much like my horn. Could this be the manufacturer?

Not that it will make much of a difference as I enjoy the horn, however I would like to find the "birth mother".
