This is not strictly a tuba question, but applies to any/all instruments in military bands. Do the musicians own the instruments they play? I would assume the percussion at least is not individually owned, but what about tubas, clarinets, trumpets, etc.? Does the director of the band make the decisions on brands and models? Just wondering.
