I have my Level I NYSSMA Audition on Wednesday night. (For those of you who don't live in New York: That is the New York State School Music Association Festival.) I shouldn't be graded too harshly as most players that are on level one are usually about 10 years old. It should be a fun experience, though. Does anyone have any pointers on how to warm up quickly without tiring myself out before the 10 minute audition? I have to play 3 scales, play my piece, and then do some really easy sight reading. The only other thing I'm worried about is starting on the wrong partial with the sight reading. Does anyone have any advice or tricks for this and for what I should do to warm up in the short time I will have? Thanks everybody!
