My high school symphonic band recently had a clinic with an excellent band director. To ensure he'd be getting his money's worth, he hired the director to give us a clinic all of the school day, with a break for lunch. This made me realize something: when I sit down for extended periods of time, shorter periods with a tuba in my lap, my legs REALLY start to hurt with a sharp pain in the back of my thigh. Has anybody else encountered this, and if so, what have you done to combat it? This is actually affecting my practice, as I can't concentrate on making music and controlling my air when I wish with all of my heart to have removable legs.
