I use older (used) king 2350's and Conn 20k's. I would also use the 14K's.
I 'm sure that the new ones are good, but I try to buy 2 or 3 used ones for the price of 1 new one. I don't like the way jupiters, yamahas, or mirafone sousaphones play.
On econsideration to keep in mind other than the differing sounds from the king and conn is that the king has the tuning slide up ion your chest if you are a big person. I have had 300 lbs players in high school that could not fit in the king horn.
