I notice that when I shave (which I only do once a week or so because I'm lazy & I hate it), the quality of my playing decreases dramatically. Playing with a super-wet embochure seems to help some, but I seem to play best with that cushion. The problem is that I hate the itch, and so does my wife.
Any suggestions or will we just have to deal with the goatee? (a full beard isn't an option)
The more I think about it, I do seem to see a higher percentage of tubists with beards/facial hair than other brasses. Cause & Effect?
