I hope this doesn't sound like gloating, but my facial hair has never caused a problem. It grows pretty thick (thanks Italy!), and fairly fast. I have had a goatee on and off which I've let get faily long (but never long enough where it could get around to the inside of my lip). I shave electric, and I can play right away. Sometimes I get too lazy to shave for 3 or 4 days, and I practice everyday. It seems to me that the seal should be made entirely with the non-hairy part of the lips, so hair should be only a comfort factor.
I wasn't sure if only people with problems were posting, or if everyone but me has this problem. Also, if more tubists have goatees, its just because we're cooler than everyone else.
