We hear about the Holy Yorks all of the time, but what were some of the other horns that Mr. Jacobs used? Surely he didn't play EVERYTHING on the Yorks, did he? I heard (on the BBS I think) that he had a double Eb/BBb that he occaisionally used, but that seems like it would only be a very small amount of time due to the impracticalities of that type of horn (already discussed at length). Or was it a situation that so many people wanted him to endorse their product that he always had horns being sent to him for play testing, and one never knew what he might be playing from week to week. Does anybody know which of those play tester horns if any he liked enough to purchase on for himself?
Just curious.
