I am now the proud owner of the Mirafone in question. It is a 5 valve 185 CC (#11347), purchased new in 1978 by Mike Gross, who traded it to Mr. Jacobs for an F (a B&S, I believe) in 1984. It is a bit of a Warhorse, numerous scratches and dings, but it is a sweet player! It has a particularly warm "old Mirafone" sound.
Owning and playing this Tuba is both a humbling and inspiring experience. Thanks to Dave Fedderly for making it possible.
