I believe it is a Sander/Sanders. It is tall at 42" Bell dia. is 17",
bore at 2nd valve 21mm. There's a very copper-like red patina where lacquer is gone.
It's at least 50+ years old, since their manufacturing operation did not survive the war (anyone know where their factory was located?)
Interesting for trying to date the horn:
the back of the bell garland has "MADE IN W-GERMANY" engraved. This wasn't seen
until after about 1948 when the Allies obligated the mark in order to allow export.
Other industrial goods that were manufactured well before that date still got the mark though - luckily the'd survived the ravages of war. Possibly this horn is one of them, made before the war but stashed somewhere? Who knows

The only other engraving is "Sanders" ornately engraved on the front of the garland
in a very recognize-able style, see pic below. It blows VERY free for a rotary horn,
is relatively light and has a gorgeous gorgeous warm sound. The style of engraving
on the bell and the valve caps as well as the style of braces had me thinking Mainz....
but now I am not so sure. Comments?
