Thanks for your comments/suggestions. The metal allergy is a possibility. My daughter cannot wear any jewlery, even the hypo-allergenic type. The drooling is also much of an issue, as he drools from the bottom of the mouthpiece when he plays, and then wipes his face with his shirt. Is there something that could protect his skin from the moisture without interfering with the playing process? In looking at mouthpieces, concidering his sister's allergies, what material should be the first try, plastic?
