When I played a Kalison that an aquaintance had purchased, I was not impressed. It sounded thin, but was very big. The tone tended to become "harsh" instead of "big" when forced into the f, ff, and fff areas of literature. I also saw that person later in the year and they told me that they had bumped the gig bag on the door and had damaged the horn severely. From this, and other accounts, I have heard that the metal is quite a bit thinner than the standard.
