Alright, my choices of horns are limited, as my parents are not willing to let me fly out to Dallas/Ferndale/Baltimore/New Jersey to test out some horns any time soon (read: no chance in Hell). My folks ARE willing to buy me a horn, but with this in mind, it brings the "best suited for me after testing" subject to a dead halt. I've been looking at some horns here recently, and am in the process of deciding which to buy here in a few months (after taxes). I've heard nothing but rave revies of these horns below, and I was just wondering how everyone feels about them, and which is the best for all-around work.
Horns I've taken into consideration:
1. MW 2000
2. Gronitz 4/4 (silver)
3. 4/4 Nirschl
4. Conn 56J (silver)
5. PT-6PS
Thankfully, I will get to test out the Perantucci....that's what my teacher uses. But right now I'm down to the general consensus of this group to aid me in my quest.
One more question: I'm playing "Triumph of the Demon Gods" for a competition here on the 9th, and I was wondering which mouthpiece y'all prefer for this type of work. Thanx!
