Pick up a CC tuba and play a low G...or pick up a BBb and play a low F.
Next, try to INSIST (with air speed) that the instrument play those pitches 50% louder than possible - even if it doesn't work. That is what would-be F players refer to as "low C disease".
"Contrabass" players - who've spend some time practicing - learned their way around that problem years ago, but refuse to address the identical problem on F tuba.
