I finally gave in and cleaned and laped my slides on my new silver horn the other day. When I finished, I went out and got some STP for the lube (my all time favorite for my old lacquer 186) well, during the course of putting it on the slides, I must have left a few smuges on the silver. When I was done, I got my silver cleaning rag out to go over the horn. When the rag hit the stp, it left big black streaks across the finish. I really like using the silver polishing rag (the two sided rag by Havertys)so can someone tell me what to use as a slide lube that will not react with my silver polishing rag? Thanks
