Playing a tuba with a piano accompaniment is one of the most problematic things that tuba players do. However, there is a " best spot" for each pitch in each context and that "best spot" can be easily found.
The real truth of the matter is that within the range of the normal playing range of the tuba, the piano is only "stretched about five hundredths of a semitone...far less than the worst out-of-tune pitches on most all tubas. Therefore the point is almost...
