The compensating EE flat is a magnificent and versitile instrument which I feel is much under rated in the US. It is well suited to orchestral, solo, band and small brass ensemble. You only need listen to recordings by Fletcher and Harrild to appreciate that the EE flat can have truely magnificent tone and clarity. Fletcher whom I consider to be the most brilliant of tubists used a B&H EE flat comp exclusively for solo and orchestral work.
However beware of recent Besson EE flats, the B&H share price truely reflects their quality, CRAP!!
I'd consider a miraphone, M/W or Hirsbrunner (if your've got the dough).
