What is "brass in pure form" as opposed any other sort of brass? And exactly what do you mean by "bronze", which can mean many copper alloys including nickel-silver and brasses?

Tubas have been made from copper--the problem is that spinning copper is harder than spinning brass and the softness of copper makes for easy damage.

Titanium is extremely difficult to machine, weld and form. While it would be possible to build a tuba from titanium (the bell could be creep-formed instead of spun), it would be exceptionally expensive to do so.
