Bflat trumpet to BBflat Tuba?

Before I start on the main question I would like to mention, in response to a thread way below, that Lee Stofer can, or is a least planning on doing recording bell to upright bell conversions for the 2XJ Conns. (770) 603-0925 / tubameister1(AT)juno.com.

Main question: Trumpet music (Bflat) is written in treble cleff and transposed so a concert Bflat appears as a C. If you throw away the key signature, Look at it as if it were the bass cleff and re-apply the correct concert key signature, you can then use a BBflat tuba with Eflat fingerings. You would look at what appears to be an Eflat, finger it with Eflat fingerings (actually open in this case) and would actually play a Bflat, 5 half steps lower than what would seem normal or correct. Everything would work as long as you thought 5 half steps lower.

Is this correct? If not, then what is?

Assuming this is correct, how can you have a BBflat tuba in front of you, think unnaturally and play Eflat fingerings, and blow 2 1/2 steps lower than what you see and still think of everything else necessary.

P.S. Can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
