The player in question already plays a CC (Conn 56J) in band and I believe he owns an F (MW 45p) as well. He takes lessons from a gentleman in town who was at one time in the President's Own. I have recommended that he make his way to Dallas and take from another player (perhaps Mr. Good from DSO or someone similar). Anyway, his teacher is not in town currently, and I havn't had a chance to speak with him.

I see your point about playing BADLY will disturd one's abilities. My thoughts are torn between 1) what if (he is very young and I tihnk he might get a bit TOO excited) he does do something that harms his potential but then again 2) what about my tuba section.

thanks

Jayson
