You need to retract that "especially in the midwest" line. I know of two brass players from Iowa in the BSO (Boston). Second trombone is from Minnesota (Yes, perhaps MN is more the Great Frozen North, not Midwest). The owner of this list and a professional tubist is from Missouri. My professor at undergrad is from Alabama. I'm not sure what your comment was supposed to mean, but it doesn't fly.
