Save your money! It wouldn't play well enough in tune to play either BBb or Eb tuba parts in a British Brass Band with the necessary facility. I have yet to find a player of that kind of tuba that can start on low C ( the lowest on the piano) or Bb and play a two octave sisteenth note scale. It can best be done with compensating valves. All the pros I have asked have just about reached melt down trying to do that, after which they say I'm just having a hard day. They find it almost impossible to play a quarter note chromatic scale in that range also. 4 and 5 valve old fashioned American instruments are simply not chromatic down to the fundamental because they don't have slides that add up to the proper lengths without trying to be a trombonist!
