OK, This really nice guitar store owner offered me this instrument, and I turned it down...an old beat-up 4-rotor Keefer BBb. Surely all of the rotors are very loose, the linkage is shot, and plenty of issues elsewhere (no offense to the lucky buyer nor the lucky seller).
I've had the opportunity to purchase Keefer tubas before...I recall once a very nice sounding top-action EEb with cloisonné finger buttons - no less: built well below A=440, typical flat second partial, nice sound, piston wear, etc...
Are these "collectable" or something?
My built-in calculator says $1700 + shipping + valve job + restoration + linkage + buffing + replating = beaucoups de $$$$.
